Fellowship of Groove

Fellowship of Groove

Fellowship of Groove were formed in 2012 out of an idea conceived at the Rhythm Tree Festival between a sax player and a drummer: To play music rooted in the rhythms of Africa that would get people dancing.

The music, heavily influenced by Afrobeat, features fat sounding horns, heavy funky grooves and spicy percussion to dance to.

The band has attracted many of the island’s top musicians to form this sound and is now a ten piece. The band has played alongside Dele Sosimi’s Afrobeat Orchestra at the New Empowering Church, at the Notting Hill Carnival, The Bossaphonik and many other festivals.
